KCP is a child-led setting which means that children’s happiness and wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do. Children learn through a play-based approach with our highly skilled team engaging the children using the child’s interests to consolidate and extend the child’s language, knowledge, understanding and learning. This approach develops children’s independence and nurtures their desire for learning, creating strong, resilient children eager to embrace new experiences and learning opportunities.
In this room we support the development of secure emotional attachments, creating a strong foundation from which the children can build their physical development and early language and communication skills.
Here we support the children to extend their language development and increase their social skills; the children have lots of space to improve their physical development.
Supporting children’s independence, we plan lots of exciting activities involving the children’s interests. The children can take part in ‘Twiglet’ sessions in preparation for Forest School.
Our Pre-School room is about supporting the children to develop the skills they need to be confident and resilient learners. Play-based activities and opportunities are designed to meet the children’s interest whilst ensuring all 7 areas of the EYFS are met.
We are very aware that a nursery’s best asset is its staff team and at KCP, we are proud to have a dedicated, experienced and qualified team who genuinely care for and enjoy the company of the children. OFSTED commented: “Staff clearly enjoy the company of the children in their care and spend time talking to them, laughing and playing with them”.
All staff undertake regular training, ensuring that they are kept up to date with the latest regulations and requirements, allowing us to offer the best possible service for all the children in our care. Modern apprentices and students will be working under the close supervision of our qualified staff at all times. Our lunchtime and bank staff who cover staff shortages and breaks are either qualified staff or experienced mums themselves.
